In the summer of 1993, I took my first art class geared towards computer graphics.  We used the VIDI Presenter Professional software for our 3D modeling and rendering.  It doesn't take long to develop an appreciation for the time needed to render an image (especially on the machines we had then).

More than anything else, I just really had fun.

A squirrel?  Well, all I can say is that the squirrel was inspired by a story by Sean Williams - eventually to be revisited.
